The King of Monsters Movies

I'm guessing that my title has you debating whether I am referring to Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff. The answer is Boris Karloff; he was Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Ghoul, Hell, he was even the Grinch, whereas Bela was only Dracula, and not even the first Dracula at that. Yes, I know what you're thinking. . . "but Kat, Dracula is your favorite of these Monster classics," and you're right. But Bela is a girl's name (or at least it is in America), not a boy's. Anyway, I am glad to introduce you to Boris. Here He Is!

Yes, now you know the reason for his being named Boris. . . He's a Halloween Black Cat! "How did I get him?" you may ask. And the answer is, yet again, he was dumped here. If you look at him, other than his green eyes, inside of his ears and mouth, he is entirely black, even down to the pads of his feet. He is also the most cuddly cat ever! Unfortunately, he has a very large tummy, despite the fact that if you pet him, you can feel every one of his bones. This could be as simple as him having worms, or as serious as him being infected with the same virus that killed Bombi. The poor thing also has something wrong with his left back leg causing him to limp.

We're guessing he's about the same age as Leo was when he was dropped off, but he could be older because he has all of his teeth, which could also mean he's younger and he just hasn't lost his yet. Personally, I am guessing older because although he's abouth the same size as Leo was, Leo's Maine Coon heritage makes him a bigger cat in general than normal cats. Also, Leo didn't quite have all of his teeth yet when we found him.

If you're wondering exactly how I found this one, here's the story: I was out bringing Buttercup in from her day of the Great Outdoors when I heard this pitiful and very scared meowing. It was coming from around Leishman's property, so I was afraid that Leo was stuck in their garage or up a tree or something so I call for him and start walking in the direction of their house. I was looking over there when I noticed a small black creature on the sidewalk starring right at me. At that point, I was seriously freaked out because of my history. I figured out that Leo was probably fine and was probably in our garage. Then the black kitten started its incredibly loud crying again. I was torn between running inside and helping the poor thing as it came towards me, meowing the entire time. It started running and the light reflected in it's eyes making them flash. This scared the crap out of me, so I started running to the house. The cat followed me, so I stopped and watched its progress. This time, my bravery kicked in and I was able to crouch down and stick my hand out. At first, the cat was skittish, kind of avoiding my hand when, all of the sudden, it rushed at me. I was too shocked to do anything, frozen by my flashback to when I was a kid, but my fear was stupid. The cat just rubbed against my hand, purring very loudly. I picked up the sweet little thing and walked into the basement where Mom, Beck, and Josh were waiting for me. The first words out of my mouth were, "Mom, it's not my fault. I promise!"

So that's Boris' story. Isn't he cute?!

Brave Leonidas

Just a legendary Greek hero? I think NOT!!!! If you are skeptic of this, allow me to introduce my little Leo:

No, my new kitten is not demonic, his red pupil is caused entirely by the camera. However, he is the most unique cat I've ever seen. How? you may ask; the most obvious answer is that his right eye is blue, while his left eye is green-brown. That's not very unique; you might think. I've seen many cats with two different colored eyes. And that's true. But I must ask you, have you ever seen a cat whose tail literally CURLS? Yes, my kitten's tail curls, kind of like a Pomeranian's. These two unusual features combined result in my cute and cuddly little Leo.

What does his being unique make him worthy of being named Leonidas, though? you also might ask. I'll tell you. Because my kitten is very adventurous and brave as well as being original. You may remember the giant tree that grows entirely over the driveway at our house. Leo climbed all the way acrossed it. (the tree is at least 17 Feet above the ground at its highest. nor did he panic once he was up there. he calmly turns around and climbs right back down. i'd also like to point out that Leo is less than a foot long and weighs less than a pound.)

How and when did you get Leo? Leo came to us on Monday. Some jerk dropped him off on the highway, and Leo wandered over to mom in the morning while she was watering her plants. Needless to say, his cute personality and looks made it easy for even mom and dad to find him adorable.

Stolen Ideas of Sentimentallity

Memory Lane

Okay, I admit it, I stole this idea from a friend (I even copied her picture), but it sounds fun.

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Don't Mess With The Bull

Last weekend, Josh and Beck decided to go up against me and my nearly limitless knowledge of movies, actors, several books, etc. Here I will prove, yet again, that I am almost always right.

They believed that Christian Bale is American, I told them he was Welsh. They still were adament in believing me to be mistaken despite me spewing several of the facts featured tbelow.

Snippets of info on CHRISTIAN BALE:

Date of Birth: 30 January 1974, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK

Although he was born and raised in Wales, his family is actually English. { not american ;}

He has an uncanny ear for accents - he has used a different accent for each of his films to date.

In the "Fresh Air with Terry Gross" radio interview first aired June 13, 2005, he admitted to Gross that because Batman is "such an American icon", he had decided not to perform his promotional interviews for the movie Batman Begins (2005) in his natural mixed Welsh/English accent. Instead he spoke to Gross in an almost inflection-less mid-American accent, only revealing his dialectic roots with a few words

If he plays an American character, he will use an American accent in all the interviews related to the film. He says he does this so the audience isn't confused.

Here is a message for all of you who like to challenge me: i have only been wrong two times when it comes to movie-related knowledge, so save yourself the trouble and humiliation of me proving you wrong and just accept the fact that I know my shit.

My Fellow TWIHARDS:

Due to the fact that (hopefully) the best book of the year (though i'd be happy with 2nd best after The Host) is coming out in only about 4 days, i decided to reread its predecessors. While surfing the internet, i noticed a script for Twilight. I have been a little apprehensive towards the movie based on its trailers, and was only calmed a small bit based on the trailer released at Comi-Con '08. I am very pleased to announce that I was extremely impressed with it. They obviously had to edit a lot from the book, making the feel of the Edward/Bella romance development feel a little too fast, but overall, it kept very close to the book. I didn't think I'd be quite so excited for the movie as I now am. I may even brave the Squeally, giggly fangirls to see the movie the first day. Anyway, if you check out my 'Quotes of the Day(ish)' section, you will find several quotes from Breaking Dawn that were released on Stephanie's website that i found quite entertaining and a very romantic one.
